Friends of Valley View Park hosts monthly Walks Through the Woods Community Cleanup Days. We enjoy walks along the trails, guest speakers, activities, park projects, and trail clean-up. These events are free and open to everyone. We also host neighborhood events at the park.

Friends of Valley View Park hosts monthly Walks Through The Woods at Valley View Park Community Cleanup Days on the third Saturday of every month from 9:00–11:00 a.m.
We meet at the kiosk sign at The Woods at Valley View Park and enjoy walks along the trails, guest speakers and activities, park projects, and trail clean-up. These events are free and open to everyone.

Meet & Bleat
Friends of Valley View Park hosted a Meet & Bleat event for the community to learn about goatscaping and to meet the goats who helped clear invasive plants from The Woods at Valley View Park.
Goatscaping
Thank you to the generous funding from The Loop Dallas, 630 goats from Open Space Texas spent 6 days in our woods, clearing invasive plants, improving visibility and safety, and enhancing our woods.

Talk & Chop
The Friends of Valley View Park hosted a Talk & Chop and invited urban biologist Christ Morris from Dallas Parks and Recreation to lead a community workshop on the invasive plant privet, teaching proper identification and cutting techniques before neighbors worked together to remove it from the Woods at Valley View Park.
Deck the Bridge
The Friends of Valley View Park invited the community to decorate the Valley View Park bridge with ornaments, festive garlands, and bows, bringing seasonal cheer to the park and creating a welcoming space for neighbors and trail users.

Birdfeeder Fun
Friends of Valley View Park invited the community for a family-friendly activity building bird feeders, encouraging bird life and fostering a deeper connection to nature in Valley View Park..
Grand Opening of The Woods at Valley View Park
The Dallas Parks and Recreation Department and Friends of Valley View Park cohosted the grand opening of the Woods, celebrating new trails, restored green space, and the community partnerships that brought this natural area to life.








Bingo in the Woods Competition
The Friends of Valley View Park invited the community to decorate the Valley View Park bridge with ornaments, festive garlands, and bows, bringing seasonal cheer to the park and creating a welcoming space for neighbors and trail users.
Goat Fact Scavenger Hunt
Children and families participated in a goat-themed scavenger hunt, exploring the park and woods while learning fun and educational facts about goats through interactive clues and activities.
